New York is perhaps the most famous city in the whole world. Even though the history of the United States has being a relatively short one, the history of the city still tells an absolutely fascinating tale, which is why so many people visit, and so many other people want to visit.
There are so many landmarks in NY making it the most popular tourist destination within the United States for US citizens and non-US citizens alike. NY is also famous for it's world class hotels such as the Ritz-Carlton, The Plaza, Mandarin Oriental, New York Palace Hotel and the Hilton Hotel to name but a few.
Of course, all of the above are the creme de la creme of hotels in the world, and whilst may provide sumptuous luxury and dashing views, may not be in everybody's price range. Not to worry though, there are so many other hotels to choose from ranging from very luxurious to very basic, depending upon your needs.
If for instance you are going on a family holiday and are taking the children, paying for a five star hotel may be lost somewhat in the appreciation stakes, as young children tend not to appreciate things like adults might. Therefore choosing another one of New York's many excellent hotels may be a better and more cost-effective idea. The very finest of hotels are often very popular with people going on Honeymoons, or anniversaries and wish to splash out and experience the very best. Such luxury hotels are popular with high profile businessmen who may stay at a fine New York hotel such as the Hilton or Plaza.
For holidaymakers and people visiting New York, while its nice to stay at a good New York hotel, chances are you will be spending very little time in the hotel as there is so much to experience and explore in New York you won't want to waste any of you're waking hours cooped up inside. Generally, a 2 or 3 star hotel will provide all of the comfort you will need whilst you are in the hotel as all hotels which have stars are of a good standard, they are clean and comfortable, which is the main thing for most people. Location of the hotel is also an important factor in choosing a New York hotel, as New York is a vast place and travelling can be very time consuming and sometimes costly, so the closer you are to where you wish to visit the better. One tip is to plot on a map where the hotels you are considering are located, and also the places you wish to visit are, and finding the best that way. You never know, you may even be within walking distance of some of the places you wish to visit.
