As you likely already know, one of the greatest benefits of opting to stay at an all-inclusive Caribbean resort is that you never need to leave. There is so much for you to do and see right onsite. Best of all? Many of these activities are listed an inclusions, meaning you don't pay extra for them! Despite the fact that you almost have the world within your reach, there are still benefits to creating a vacation itinerary that focuses on your activities. What are they?
Too Much To Do and See: Of course you don't want to complain about having a resort that offers a boatload of fun things to do and see, but you may be pressed for time. If you opted for a shortened 3-day vacation, you may be in a rush. You don't want to get home and have that light bulb go off when you realize "oh no I forgot to try snorkeling."
It Is Just a Piece of Paper: While you are encouraged to create an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation itinerary so you don't miss anything that your resort has to offer, always remember that it is just a piece of a paper. It isn't a commitment set in stone. If you would rather sunbathe by the beach instead of snorkeling, go right ahead and do so. Plus, your itinerary doesn't have to be a set schedule either. Instead of saying Tuesday at 1pm - snorkel, you can just make a list of all the things you want to do and see on your trip.
It Forces You To Examine: When it comes to choosing an all-inclusive Caribbean resort, you don't want to opt for the lowest price; you want to opt for the best value for your money. This means choosing a resort with a number of onsite inclusions you will use, like that above mentioned snorkeling. Unfortunately, many people do not consider these important factors when choosing a resort. They base their decision on price, availability, or the pretty pictures they see. If you made this choice, creating an itinerary essentially forces you to look at the resort's list of inclusions (which is actually a good thing).
Now that you know some of the benefits of creating an activity itinerary for your upcoming all-inclusive Caribbean vacation, what should be on the list? Whatever you want. I can give you a bunch of example and I will below, but these are just that: examples. To have the Caribbean vacation of your dreams, you must do what makes you happy and this includes doing and seeing all that you want! However, here are a few good starter points.
Beach Activities: A good all-inclusive Caribbean resort will let you do more than just walk along the shore line; they will let you hop in the water. Not only that, they should have a number of beach activities listed as inclusions. Many resorts in the Caribbean have snorkeling, scuba diving, wind surfing, and kayaking available right onsite. Plus, you don't pay extra for any needed rental equipment when these activities are listed as inclusions.
Land Activities: Although the focus of most beachfront resorts is the beach, you should still have plenty of things to do and see right onsite. Most all-inclusive Caribbean resorts are home to multiple swimming pools, multiple bars and restaurants, a game room, a spa, a fitness center, or tennis courts. There are some resorts that even have an onsite golf course or rock climbing wall! Most of these are listed as inclusions with the exception of a spa visit; you will need to pay extra.
Speaking of extra, don't be afraid to try things that aren't listed as inclusions at your resort. While it may not be free, I bet you could use a massage or a manicure. The key though is to familiarize yourself with what is and isn't included in your all-inclusive Caribbean travel package ahead of time. This not only ensures no unwelcome surprises, but it also enables you to alter your budget accordingly.
In short, there are benefits to creating an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation itinerary that includes activities. If you have already booked your resort start, research their list on things to do and see onsite to determine what your options are. If you have yet to book your travel plans, be sure to use these activities as a factor to consider when making your choice.
