Tips to Travel around Malaga

The city of Malaga is located in the south of Spain on the world famous Costa del Sol. It is a very popular destination because there is much to see and to do in this part of Spain. The summer months are the busiest months for tourist visiting Malaga. During this time of year the weather is what you would expect from a Mediterranean holiday destination, In general summers are hot and winters are mild, which makes Malaga an ideal out of season travel destination.

If you're travelling during the busy summer months it's important to book your flights, your accommodation and your car hire in advance. Check the most popular travel websites for the best possible deals, but do not forget to use search engines like Google or Yahoo to find other website of local companies who may be able to give you a very good last minute offer or a special discount for an early booking.

This castle is open to visitors and if you love history then you should definitely visit the castle which is fairly close situated to the Alcazaba and the remains of the Roman Theatre. Gibralfaro also enjoys a fantastic view of the rest of the city of Malaga. A visit to Gibralfaro is a great way to explore the history of Malaga.

Another landmark of Malaga is the cathedral, which was built way back in 1528. Although construction continued intermittently until 1783 the construction of the cathedral of Malaga was never completed. The building has only one tower, because the second tower was never finished due to money matters. The cathedral of Malaga ha a number of different architectonical styles due to the construction being started and stopped so often over all these years.
For art lovers a visit to the CAC (Centro de Arte Contemporaneo) and the Picasso Museum is a must. The historical centre of Malaga offers some very interesting and picturesque corners, like the Plaza de la Merced or the house where Pablo Picasso was born. The archaeological museum of Malaga, with a large selection of Greek and Gothic art is also worthwhile visiting.
