The beautiful Caribbean island of Tobago is a great holiday destination if you're looking for a vacation with a difference.
Tobago may be only 26 miles long by 7 miles wide, but despite its tiny size it has so much to offer its visitors. It's ideal for a romantic getaway, a sporting holiday or an annual family vacation. There is a good selection of self-catering accommodation on the island, too.
It's a true gem which you really have to see to believe! With its stunning beaches, amazing landscapes and delightful friendly people, Tobago boasts all the ingredients of a perfect holiday location. But what is so special about this island is that it is unspoilt and is not commercialised. So you will be able to enjoy the true beauty of this island's natural environment, which is a rarity in today's modern world.
You will be spoilt for choice by the island's amazing beaches! Some which you might like to check out are Mount Irvine, Englishman's Bay, Store Bay, Charlotteville beach, Canoe Bay, Man O War Bay, Castara and Pigeon Point. So if you're in search of sun, sea and relaxation, you need look no further than Tobago.
What's more, you will be able to find a beach all to yourself, so you won't have to fight for the last space or be forced to share the sand with the masses!
One of the best ways of getting to see the island is going on a guided tour. It's a particularly good idea if you haven't visited Tobago before, so you won't miss out on the must-see sights. You will then have the opportunity to revisit any places in your own time. There are so many ways of getting around this island. You can hire a car, jeep, motorcycle, scooter or bike. Or you can take the bus or a taxi.
There's a selection of tours on which you can join. You can even go on an off-road Jeep Safari, on a bird-watching tour or a fishing trip. The choice is yours!
Not surprisingly, Tobago is excellent for many sporting activities. You can also try your hand at windsurfing, sailing, scuba diving or horse riding. If you're into golf, you will also be catered for in Tobago. There are two golf courses - Tobago Plantations Golf & Country Club and Mount Irvine Bay Hotel & Golf Club.
Tobago is also a great place to hire a mountain bike. It's provides a good opportunity to see the island and some amazing views. An advantage is that there's no shortage of places to stop off, take a break, enjoy a picnic and even take a refreshing swim in the sea!
During your holiday property rental in Tobago, you will get the chance to eat some delicious local food. There are some good restaurants on the island, which are well worth a visit. During your stay, try to sample some roti, which is a thick potato, chick pea and meat (such as beef, chicken or goat etc) curry wrapped in a flour pancake, crab and dumpling or some of the tasty seafood available.
Without doubt, Tobago is an ideal destination for all ages and tastes, whether it's an annual family vacation or a romantic getaway. Why not get married and enjoy a honeymoon on the island? It's a perfect wedding venue.
But even if you're not planning on getting hitched, the charming island of Tobago provides a perfect chill out experience and a special holiday destination. Whether you're looking to explore the island on two wheels, learn to scuba dive or you're simply planning to lie on the beach all day long, Tobago has it all!
