Travel to Malaysia With Rhino Car Hire

Malaysia is a diverse country which offers the visitor a wide array of wildlife, forests, modern cityscapes and gorgeous food.

This south east Asian country is spread across two land masses with Malaysia being located below Thailand on the Asian peninsula and eastern Malaysia being part of the country of Borneo. The largest city in East Malaysia is Kota Kinabalu.

Malaysia has a tropical climate and east Malaysia experiences heavy monsoon rains between November and February. On peninsular Malaysia the monsoon months vary depending on whether you are on the east or the west coast. Although it can get quite humid the weather in Malaysia is often pleasant and not too hot.

Arriving into Malaysia most people will arrive at the Sungai Besi international airport in Kuala Lumpur which has flights to and from a number of world wide destinations.

Car hire Malaysia is a good way to not only explore large cities such as the capital Kuala Lumpur, but also to get out into the beautiful Malaysian countryside.

One such place is the Cameron Highlands which is almost 2,000 metres above sea level in the Green Bowl of Malaysia, an area which provides a lot of food to the rest of the country. Here you can see some of the classic sites of rural Malaysia such as tea plantations, strawberry farms and butterfly farms.

Another must see area of outstanding natural beauty is Miri and this resort city in Sarawak is considered to be the gateway to the UNESCO world heritage site of Gunung Mulu National Park.

Travellers in Malaysia can also island hop to stunning locations such as Pangkor Island which has great beaches and beautiful blue waters. The beaches here are so good that one has been called Pantai Puteri Dewi which means beach of the Lovely Princess.

Pangkor town is a quaint settlement based around fishing and consequently a great place to try some wonderful Malaysian fish dishes such as Malaysian fish curry.

The archipelago of 100 or so Langkawi islands is also incredible, being made up of mangrove estuaries, mountains, rainforests and of course beaches to die for. Because Langkawi is a duty free port, many people come here to shop and shopping is certainly one of the main pastimes in Malaysia.

Sports lover may also visit Malaysia to see the Malaysian Grand Prix which draws thousands of tourists to Kuala Lumpur every year. Car hire Kuala Lumpur is the quickest and cheapest way to travel to the track and see the race. Make sure you are in possession of an international drivers licence and whatever you do don't drink drive. Punishments are heavy and breathalysing tests regular.

Before travelling to Malaysia be aware that having drugs, even a small recreational amount is worthy of the death sentence. Public displays of affection are also not tolerated and can result in imprisonment.

The Malaysian currency is the Ringgit and you should not have any problems getting your hands on it as there are bureau de Change and banks everywhere where currency can be exchanged.
