Tulum is an ecological area where serenity abounds. Tulum is situated on the coast of Quintana Roo 120 kilometers south of the world famous ruins. It sits on the second largest barrier reef in the world. Tulum rest on the Mexican part of the Caribbean Sea, on the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula (map), at the south end of the Riviera Maya, on the rim of the All-Inclusive-Grand-Hotel zone.
Tulum is mostly recognized for its ruins, which strike a remarkable image next to the sea, but were constructed during a time period of Maya culture that was fading. Tulum Ruins is the archeological site where the Maya ruins of Tulum stand. The major attraction in Tulum is the archaeological site; however, the town itself is growing in popularity.
There is a broad range of accommodations and all hotels are close to the area's long, narrow and extremely beautiful beaches. Tulum hotel zone has an area approximately 12 km you will find a number of small hotels, boutique hotels, chalets and villas.
Tulum have fantastic, pretty big white sand beaches. Tulum Playa embraces many of the fancier, ecological, boutique and spa hotels, and it has a decent to excellent selection of restaurants and night spots. Tulum beach nests along the coastline that leads into the Sian Ka'an Biosphere which is the Ecological Reserve, the Caribbean white sandy beaches to the east, an impressive mangrove & wetland reserve to the south.
Tulum is a great combination of nature, culture, and the mundane. Tulum it is where we can relax and enjoy peace and quiet. Tulum's privileged geographical location provides an endeared atmosphere to plan a mid or long-term stay, and with so many options and such a wide range of things to do at a short distance away, combining a Spanish learning holiday with adventure activities, health/spa programs, exploration trips and cultural events is very possible.
