Birmingham, which is situated in the west midlands, is the 2nd biggest city in england. indeed, the city's wide population is 2nd only to that of the capital.
Most of birmingham's city centre was ruined during the 2nd world war, and unattractive replacement structures were hastily built. however, since the nineties, Birmingham has been undergoingsome radical changes and a number of the post-war structures have been replaced. most of the city centre is pedestrianised now, and the canals have also been tidied up to make them image nicer.
Birmingham is a modern, lively and cosmopolitan city. With vibrant culture, great hotels, fabulous opportunities for shopping and individual tourist attractions, its a fabulous place to visit for a weekend break or holiday.
Birmingham has some great buildings to look at, which include the Bullring shopping mall. The Bullring was constructed at a cost of £500 million by Benoy and is a striking, modern building.
For an interesting and entertaining day out in birmingham for the entire family, you should visit some of brum's fascinating museums or art galleries. The city has some superb ones, including Cadbury World. Cadbury World, the uk's only museum that's devoted to chocolate, takes chocolate fans through the whole chocolate making process & there are always many yummy samples to try!
Some of the other art galleries & museums we love are the national sea life centre, bantock house & the birmingham art gallery, which has some great pieces.
Brum has a bustling city centre that is packed with top high street stores, so its a marvellous place for shopping lovers to visit. despite this, hardcore shoppers may rather visit the city's Bullring mall. in actual fact, the Bullring is massive and has 160 stores, which include some marvellous names such as ann summers, agent provocateur and dkny. its also boasts a major Selfridges shop and over 25 restaurants, which means that you can truly spend the entire day there.
If you are staying for a short break or holiday in brum, you should ensure you taste the city's fantastic nightlife. indeed, the city boasts quaint pubs, vip cocktail bars and some fabulous clubs, which means that you will be spoiled for choice.
For fanaticals of alternative or indie music, there are many venues to watch live music in the city including the sunflower lounge. in addition to this, you will also discover many alternative bars and clubs too, which means that you will have a fabulous time.
