What Will Happen if You do Not Recycle Plastics

many people in our society haven't a clue as to why they should recycle still others recycle to a certain degree but don't put too much effort into the job . This means out of all the items being recycled not enough people recycle their plastics . Then the question lies with: "What will happen if you do not recycle plastics? Well, let´s see exactly what is happening now.

This statistic says that only about 7% of plastics are recycled . So even if you aren't worried about what will happen if you do not recycle plastics, you should, and these are the reasons why .

Only some of these communities have curb side pick up while others require you to drop off your plastics. Of these communities only certain ones will accept plastic bottles and leave all other plastics to be tossed in the trash.

Ok, so now that we have established that only a small percentage of plastics gets recycled and that not every plastic is recycled, now lets find out what happens to that plastic when we don't ask the question: What will happen if you do not recycle?. All of this plastic ends up in the landfill , and becomes waste and affects the environment in a negative way.

Even as far back as the 60's plastic only made up 1% of a communities waste, and now it is about 12 %. Most of this plastic is unrecycled plastic bottles and bags, with about 38 billion water bottles being in the landfill.

It looks terrible and is dangerous to wildlife. More and more animals are killed by litter every year.

But the biggest answer to the question: What will happen if you do not recycle plastics? These plastics aren't recycled new plastic needs to be made, and this results in more energy and natural resources being used to make new plastic items, which then get thrown out shortly thereafter again.
