So what is your idea of a good weekend? Enjoying a meal with friends and family perhaps? How about relaxing in the garden if the weather is nice? Maybe a walk in the park is just what you need to revitalise yourself and get back to feeling great again. Alternatively you could head to a city to spend some time in an altogether different environment.
Cities can be busy and noisy, it’s true; but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be on your list to explore when you want something different to do at the weekend. In fact, a weekend break to a city in another country altogether might be the best way to give you a bit more energy!
When people think about visiting a city they generally think about the biggest ones that are within close proximity. But, there are plenty of cities in other countries that are well placed for providing all kinds of entertainment and relaxation during a couple of days away from home.
Of course, Paris will always be a big favourite for a European breakaway, but you don’t always have to go for the most obvious destinations. Prague provides a window to show you the best of the Czech Republic, while Vienna is great if you have always wanted to get a look at the Blue Danube. Other good options include Amsterdam, Berlin and Dublin.
But a weekend away doesn’t have to be restricted to two days. If you are able to take extra time off from work, why not head a bit further afield and get a taste of America instead? New York breaks are one of the most popular ones of all. It is a long flight, but as soon as you see the New York skyline as you come in to land at the airport, you will realise that it is definitely worthwhile!
What's more, weekends away to other countries can provide you with an opportunity to get a taste of a different culture altogether. This alone can be enough to revitalise you and make you feel on top of the world again. And, because there are so many city breaks available to choose from, you could easily take several a year if you wanted to.
But no matter where you choose to go or what type of break you're after, you will certainly enjoy the delights of being away from home for a few short days.
