I've been putting a little pressure on my partner this year to do something special for Valentine's Day as we have spent the last 2 V days apart.
Being the last minute pair we are, my nagging started on Wednesday and my partners search for a romantic getaway started Thursday - 2 days before the busiest day of the year for hotels.
Needless to say, no country retreat or 5 star hotel has been booked.
A motel in Parramatta or Campbelltown, however, are still available.
I think I'll stay at home.
If you're not familiar with Sydney, the aforementioned motels are situated in busy cities on the outskirts of Sydney. Not my idea of relaxing or romantic.
Lesson learned? Book early! Be it a hotel or a rental car, if something 'big' is coming up, be on the ball and book early.
Easter may seem a long way off (the eggs seem to appear in the supermarkets as soon as Christmas is over) but in terms of booking accommodation or car hire for your trip, now is the time to book.
With school holidays around the same time and 2 extra days off work, demand for car hire will be high. Booking early means you can secure the car group you want for a reasonable price.
Leave it to the last minute and you could be on your way to a motel in Campbelltown....
DriveAway Holidays have lots of eggcellent deals for Easter! Check out DriveAway Holidays for options. We also offer car hire in Sydney if you do fancy a weekend in Parramatta or Campbelltown.
