ceremonies. Couples are now looking to add an "exotic twist" to their big day.
Formerly, destination weddings are the exclusive domain of celebrities and the ultra - rich and famous, however in recent years it has become accessible and affordable for anyone and sometimes it's far cheaper comparing to traditional wedding back home.
f properly planned, a destination wedding can not only be a saving, it can also turn your wedding day into an unforgettable "vacation" for you and your guests.
There are several reasons why destination weddings are getting more popular now days.
1. Destination weddings often combine the wedding and the honeymoon.
2. Having you wedding away from home usually means that only the closest friends and family will be invited or you can choose to be alone just with your partner.
3 Destination weddings allow you to host a less formal wedding or an out-of-the-ordinary ceremony.
4. Return to a beloved place or to be at a dream or exotic location.
Langkawi has fast become a popular destination for couples who wanted to have their wedding abroad. There are many spots in the island that you could have you wedding hosted. Furthermore, most hotels and resort in Langkawi offer wedding packages customised to different needs and budgets. I have written in my previous posting with regards to possible wedding venues in Langkawi.
Destination weddings can be fun and relaxing experience for you and your guests. In fact, most destination weddings are easier to plan than your hometown ceremonies. Most importantly is you need to planned it together with your partner.
3 tips for success in planning your destination wedding.
1. It's essential to know the local laws and regulations to make sure your marriage is legal (if you choose to have legal registration). You should research the country's marriage laws and ensure that you the necessary documentations, visas and that your passport is up to date. Most hotels and resort here should be able to provide you with information and assist you with this. These resorts have officers specially assigned for weddings and they are all competence with those local regulations and laws. Or there are plenty of destination wedding specialist or agents here in Malaysia or your place that will be happy to help you.
2. If you bring your guests along you may want to be sure that they are properly taken care of eg. are able to find a suitable accommodations and so on. Make sure that your guests gets plans that are convenient, affordable and closed to where the action is (if they are not staying at the same resort with you). Try to organise a tour (before or after the reception), gifts or a luncheon for them. After all , they travel all this way to share and be with you for your wedding.
3. Check out for group or early bird discounts with hotels/airlines, tour operators and restaurants. Furthermore many hotels and resort here offer variety of wedding packages or could customised to different needs and budgets.
Happy Planning!
