Historic, Peaceful and Relaxing Namsan Park in Seoul, South Korea
At the heart of Seoul, is situated the symbolic Mount Namsan, with an altitude of about 265 meters above the sea level. It might appear that the altitude is not very great, but the location however is an excellent place to relax and have a good time. In fact, Mount Namsan is quite famous as a good resting and relaxation spot and the popular Namsan Park is built around it. Mt Namsan offers several different services and facilities at the top. These include: Palgakjeong (the octagon shaped hall), the Seoul tower, maritime aquarium, fountains, and the Namsan library. The top of the summit can be reached either by using a cable car or by climbing up the stair-like route. The routes to Mt Namsan include Namdaemun, Hoehyun dong, Taegyero, Jangchung Park, Itaewon, and Huam dong, among several others. The driving courses here are particularly famous among couples. The Namsan Park has a historical significance to the city. Bonghwadae (the beacon mound) situated on the top was previously a defense capital in the olden times. The capital was switched to Hanyang (today Seoul) by the Joseon Dynasty (1392 to 1910). In order to secure the place from invasions and attacks from enemies, large castle wall structures were erected over the four main mountains of Bukaksan, Inwangsan, Naksan, and Namsan. Five beacons were installed on the Namsan top that acted as the focal point for news reporting to and from the local governments. A five signal system was in place in those times. The Palgakjeong Pavilion, located on top of the Namsan peaks, is worth seeing. They provide for a splendid and mesmerizing viewing of Seoul. The entire landscape of Seoul can be seen from the Seoul Tower (479.7M), even beyond the Incheon, along the west sea. The Seoul tower also has a rotating restaurant that offers a good continual view of the landscape. You could have a wonderful night time meal at the tower and see the scenic Seoul during the night. The Namsangol is a traditional Korean village of five traditional Korean homes. Namsan Park is a place to enjoy at a relaxed pace and if you are visiting Seoul on business or even as a tourist, don't forget to drop in at Namsan Park for some quiet and peaceful hours. Seoul has much to offer a visitor and you can enjoy all of it while staying at a serviced residence. Seoul serviced apartments are an excellent accommodations choice for everyone.
