Holidays to Cuba. When to Book

At this stage you might have already decided that Cuba is the destination that you want to visit for your next holiday but you probably need some guidance on how to make a booking. This might seem a little bit trivial but it is definitely not the case when it comes to organizing holidays to Cuba.

The fact that Cuba is such a mystical and increasingly popular destination, presents tour operators with a real problem. Cuba is not a last minute destination, at least not if you are planning to go in the so called high season.

High season in Cuba, comprises Easter period and the summer months of July and August, particularly popular for families traveling with children. November, late December, January, February and March are extremely well-liked months especially among the European tourists in search of a warm country to escape from the cloudy skies and the cold weather.

Quite often I get clients asking me to arrange a holiday for them in the above mentioned months, but sometimes the enquiry comes too late. This is frustrating, both for the client and myself. For one simple thing, I can not excel recommending an itinerary for the fact that the most interesting areas and best hotels are completely sold out, leaving me with the only answer I can give. “I am very sorry but at this point there is nothing available that I feel comfortable recommending”

Of course if you are looking to do something simple and relaxing like staying for a couple of weeks on a beach resort then there is not much to worry about as there are plenty of options available in terms of locations and hotels. The problem presents it self when clients are interested in combining locations like Havana, Viñales Valley, Las Terrazas, Cienfuegos, Trinidad and or Santiago de Cuba. Areas like this with the exception of Havana are very limited when it comes to accommodation facilities.

If you are looking to arrange a tailor made holiday to Cuba in high season my advice to you is to call at least 4 months in advance in order to guarantee not only the rooms in your preferred hotels but also the best deal from the Airlines. If you unfortunately did not come across this article before and are planning a last minute tailor made holiday, there is always a possibility to find something available but is not going to be the kind of holiday that we wish for you.

In the case of low season months is very easy to find availabilities and good deals in terms of price and it really does not matter much when you call. We are very confident to be able to match you exact holiday requirements.

I hope you have found this information a useful resource and wish you the very best when booking a holiday to Cuba.

Package Holidays to Cuba
By: Jose Mauricio | 21/01/2008 | Travel Tips
If you really want to get to know this amazing Caribbean island then try to avoid the cheap classic package holiday that sells flights and accommodation for as little as 499.00 sterling pounds per person based on 2 people sharing a standard room. There is actually nothing wrong with the quality of accommodation or flights but to travel for 9 hours on a plane across the Atlantic to end up secluded in a private beach is definitely the worst way to know Cuba.

Paseo Del Prado: Havana's Most Famous Promenade
By: Jose Mauricio | 25/12/2007 | Travel Tips
Officially named as Paseo de Marti for a decree that issued that all the main avenues or streets in Cuba should carry the names of the Cuban heroes, El Paseo del Prado is the name that among Cubans one of the greatest avenues in Cuba receives. The Paseo del Prado is one of the prettiest main streets in the old part of the city. It begins at the Central Park Hotel and leads down to the seafront known as the Malecon, which gives this avenue its reputation. A wide walkway lined with trees and stone benches bisects the street, while in either side you can see the columns and arches of the mostly residential neocolonial balcony buildings, painted in a whole host of colors. The works of this impressive boulevard began out walls in 1770 (it is important to say that what is now the Old Havana was enclosed with walls and its doors were closed at 9 o’clock every day, a tradition that still remains and the ceremony is known as El Cañonazo) and it was finished in the middle of 1830 during the term of office of Captain Miguel Tacon.
