Rent a Car in Aruba--Spreekt u het Nederlands? Auto Verhuur Aruba

Okay, so I don't speak Dutch, but I do go to Aruba all the time.  One phrase that I know best as soon as I arrive at the airport is, "Spreekt u het Nederlands?  Auto verhuur Aruba."  They usually just point to the rental car kiosk across the terminal.  But heck, I tried, right?

As an American, I can testify that nearly as many American tourists populate this island as any other culture.  The Aruban culture is filled with a variety of interesting cultures.  Actually, they have over 40 nationalities residing there.

This is probably why the Department of Transportation implements the international road signage.  All this means is get familiar with the pictures.  It's much easier than learning another language (especially when the only Dutch phrase I know is "auto verhuur aruba").  I just want to hop in my vehicle and be on my merry way.

Every time I rent a car in Aruba, I really explore this tiny, 70-square foot island.  I've been to all seven of the natural bridges off the rocky northern shore.  I've been to the furthest tip of the south to check out San Nicolas.

I have even tried the treacherous trek up to the Natural Pool just for the satisfaction of the view.  You can see the ocean waves crashing up and over the rocks.  At that point, I just feel grateful to be alive.

Thanks to my rental car in Aruba, I'm able to rent from a non-commercialized resort.  I can still drive on down to the southern coast and live the high-life in the casinos and resorts.  At the same time, I love going up to the mountainous area by the California Lighthouse because of all the great scuba diving.

If you ever want to learn a little Dutch while you're in Aruba, the first thing you should say when you get off that plane is, "Auto verhurr Aruba, tevreden?"  That means please auto vehicle rental in Aruba!
