Touring South America along the ocean
Every summer, cruise liners depart from places as diverse as Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Manaus, Sao Paulo and Valparaiso to take passengers on a journey along the South American coast. Several cruise lines have lined up now to give more and more people the chance to travel this route, as well as to cater to a far wider variety of people. Now, cruises are available on a much more personalized basis, and people do not need to cater to a one-size-fits-all.
People on a South American cruise travel vacation can choose between various durations and destinations during their tour of South America. Some cruises allow the opportunity to stay overnight at Rio or Buenos Aires, giving passengers the opportunity to experience the rich nightlife of those places. All these places, as well as Montevideo, Puerto Madryn and the Falkland Islands are on the East coast of South America.
On the western coast, cruise travel takes you along the Galapagos Islands in the north, down to General San Martin, Santiago, the Darwin Canal, the famed Chilean ports and down to Cape Horn. Some cruises also venture onto the northern tip of Antarctica - usually the Palmer Station and Elephant Islands.
For those who manage to time their cruise well, a visit to the famed carnival of Rio de Janeiro can also be thrown in along with the experience of the cruise itself. Some river cruises on the continent take travelers along the Amazon river and through the rainforest, where they can experience the sights, sounds and scents of the famed Amazon for themselves.
A cruise travel vacation in South America can be a way to spend time in the lap of luxury, to explore famous port cities, or to explore the natural wonders of the river and rainforest. All in all, this is an opportunity that must be availed at the soonest possible opportunity.
