Being single is usually a fine thing, but when you’re planning on going to a beach resort, it isn’t always so great. If you don’t believe it, try traveling to a beach resort and looking around and all you’ll see are families and couples pairing up. There are, however, tons of great reasons to go to a beach resort by yourself, including the fact that you can get more rest and relaxation alone at a beach resort than you would ever get if you were traveling with someone else. If you’re going to a beach resort alone, here are a few things that you can do that are perfect for the solo traveler at a beach resort.
1. Rest! One of the biggest reasons people go to a beach resort is to rest. The sound of the waves on the ocean at the beach resort and the simple fact that you can get everything you want at the snap of a finger is a luxury that most people dream about. If you’re traveling solo, spend your time resting and relaxing instead of thinking about how you aren’t with someone.
2. Catch up on the novel you’ve always wanted to write. Okay, not all of us want to write novels, but it’s a guarantee that there’s something you’ve always wanted to do that you haven’t had the time to do in your normal, everyday life. Use the time at a beach resort to do what you’ve always dreamed about doing. You’ve got the next great American novel in you – so get to it!
3. Be adventurous! When you’re traveling with someone else to a beach resort, you can only do something that the both of you want to do together, or that you browbeat or cajole the other person into. If you’re traveling alone, though, you can do whatever you want! Be adventurous and do something that you’ve always wanted to try on your beach resort vacation, like swimming with sharks or parasailing! Okay, maybe those are a bit too adventurous for your dream beach resort vacation, so how about traveling to a volcano near the beach resort and seeing it, or going swimming with dolphins near the beach resort?
4. Go naked. More people want to visit nudist resorts than will ever admit to it. If you’re going to be traveling solo to your beach resort, why not try going naked for a bit? Most nude beaches have pleasant atmospheres and are very relaxing to go to and are within throwing distance of a beach resort. And the best part? You won’t be around anyone you know or who will ever see you again, so feel free to be free!
Going to a beach resort by yourself doesn’t have to be torture. In fact, it can be just the opposite – pure bliss. If you’re looking to hook up with someone, there are usually many like-minded people visiting a beach resort, but if you’re trying to enjoy your solo time, you can do so quite easily, no matter which beach resort you happen to travel to.
