Cash for Clunkers is the government’s latest attempt to jump-start some divisions of the economy. This program is running for a limited time and has strict requirements to be eligible yet even though they are strict, they are easy to meet.
For trucks and SUVs the new replacement vehicle must have a fuel rating of at least 15 MPG, have gas mileage 1 MPG higher than trade in for light duty trucks for the $3,500 rebate and 2 MPG for the $4,500 voucher.
