Village East
In 1993, Sun Peaks Resort initiated a new 4 phase master plan that would enable the resort to accommodate 18,000+ guests per day by 2026. Currently, the resort is in phase 2 which entails the increasing of services and accommodation in the Village East area. The Village East offers the newest and most modern accomodation in Sun Peaks Resort.
The Morrisey Express chairlift gives many developments in this area ski-in/ski-out access.
Village West
Families and large groups of people looking to get away from it all should look for accomodation in Village West. Located further away from the Pedestrian Village, this area is usually much quieter and more peaceful. Guests looking to stay close to the nightlife however, may not find this area as appeasing. Some developments in this area feature ski-in accessibility with a select few also offering ski out accessibility. Some developments in this accomodation area back onto the Sun Peaks Golf Course providing quick access to the greens.
Long time Sun Peaks vacationers will feel at home at the Village West as it is the home to the historic Burfield Lodge & Chair. These were the first operational services available to the general public in 1961.
Pedestrian Village
Properties ranging in size from 1 bedroom to 3 bedrooms + can be found in the Pedestrian Village, the most densely populated accommodation area in Sun Peaks. Guests wanting to be close to the shops, restaurants, and nightlife will be the most appreciative of this area.
Ski-in/Ski-out access is also available at most properties in the Pedestrian Village as a variety of green & blue runs snake their way down towards the Village Centre where the gondolas and lifts are located. A skating rink and tubing park are also located within walking distance to many of the privately owned vacation properties in the area.
Other Accomodation Areas
Situated between the Pedestrian Village and Village West are Sunburst, Mountain View, and the Fairway Estates. These areas feature detached chalets ranging in size from 2000 to 5000 square feet and can accommodate up to 20 guests. All units have easy access to the Sun Peaks Golf Course.
