Holiday rentals in Eastern European countries have been fairly restricted in the past – it’s taken a while for tourism to get a secure foothold following the tumultuous politics of the late twentieth century. Holiday rentals have generally been geared towards those places with the infrastructure already in place to host new visitors – the resorts of the Black Sea and the capital cities. Now though, things are starting to change. Individual investors – both foreign and nationals - are buying holiday rentals properties in unique locations to rent to the holiday-maker who is looking for something a little bit different.
So much is still unknown about the countries of Eastern Europe to the average Western traveller. But now, countries such as Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria have made themselves accessible with an increase in holiday rentals and there is no end to what they have to offer. From the Tatra mountains in Slovakia to the great Danube in Hungary, from the B??dów Desert (yes, desert) in Poland to the outstanding national parks of Bulgaria – there’s so much to be explored and experienced.
Fortunately, people are starting to realise what opportunities are to be had from holiday rentals in the remoter parts of these countries. Now it’s possible to find all sorts of holiday rentals that are off the beaten track and true to the region. You’ll certainly still find the functional holiday rentals of the Black Sea resorts, but if you’re looking for something a little bit different, then you don’t have to search too hard to find it. Be it a converted monastery, a stone cottage or an original farm dwelling – these holiday rentals are increasing in popularity and increasing in number. The opportunity is out there to discover a little bit of Europe before anyone else gets there first…
