If you are thinking to plan a holiday in the french Riviera, think Nice as your holiday base. As it has the second biggest airport of France and all places on the Côte d'Azur are easy to reach by public transport. Nice is the place to be for the rich and famous and many of them stayed at the world famous Negresco hotel. To choose where to stay in Nice, you can think of the old town (Vieux Nice) with the narrow streets and the Italian flavour, the city centre in the Carré d'or area, the Promenade des Anglais area or the hills in Nice. The old town is very trendy now, but be aware of the size of the apartment. From the hills you could have beautiful sea views. Cimiez is the most beautiful residential area on a Nice hill. The Promenade is the most luxury location, but be aware to book near the city centre and not near the airport as the Promenade is 7 kilometres long !
