Paris, the favourite destination for lovers

Paris is the romantic city par excellence. The French capital has inspired the minds of artists to produce artworks, literature, architecture or fashion. Paris is a precious jewel and a great city not only due to its spaces, but also for art and culture that you can breathe. It is great for its history and its ability to innovate and keep abreast of the times whilst retaining its old charm. Those who visit Paris for the first time, can only be enchanted by the atmosphere full of suggestions that Paris evokes. ? This is the perfect place to visit with the partner on a holiday. Who haven’t ever dreamt to make a surprise to girlfriends or boyfriends, taking a flight and spending a city break in Paris during the weekend?

Although the city is a modern metropolis, Paris has decided to keep mark of a historic city, thanks to the care with which the local government and also the citizens have always had to protect their city. So you can meet with the traditional character and charm of the street in the centre of the Île de St. Louis and then shift to the magnificence of the boulevards, with amazement that still carries a detour to cheer on the top floor of the Eiffel Tour of historic neighbourhoods such as Montmartre, where you can enjoy a quiet nocturnal walk, and Montparnasse, resting in a café or having a nice meal in a Breton restaurant. What to say about the more modern architectures such as the Pompidou Centre of Renzo Piano and those that are at the Defense? What about the splendour of the parks, historic squares, the numerous rich museums, the beauty of the Seine and the Cathedral, the luxurious holiday apartments in Paris city... Paris is a dream come true.

Capital of France, with 105 square kilometers of area, occupies the heart of the Île-de-France region and is at the centre of a vast metropolitan area at the confluence of the Seine and the Marne. It is divided into twenty “arrondissements”, that is to say twenty administrative districts, which reflect the development of the city and its subsequent expansions. The boundary of the city is marked by a main road called the Périphérique, built in 1973, which is about 35 Km long and encircles the central core. ? Paris gathers all the main activities of the country: the city is the cultural centre of France, it has financial and commercial company headquarters and also has a great development of the tertiary sector such as administrative, clerical and service sectors. It is also a major industrial city: automotive, aeronautical, electrical, fashion and clothing, perfume and film.

Large industries are usually settled outside the ring of the city while small crafts can be found also in the centre. Paris is especially a tourist town that attracts visitors from all over the world. The city far exceeds the other French cities in importance and population, and the huge urban area, that has about 11,330,000 inhabitants, includes the suburbs and nearby towns. Among them there are: Argenteuil, Asnieres-sur-Seine, Cliché, Colombes, Courbevoie, Levallois-Perret, Montreuil, Neuilly-sur-Seine, St-Denis, Versailles, etc. ?The vast underground network now covers about 235 Km and the access roads to the city are highways and national roads. Six train stations enables communication with different areas of French and Europe. A railway connects all the suburbs of the city. Charles de Gaulle airport is about 35 km from the centre.
