Vevo is the most talked about music video website which is yet to be launched. The internet giant Google and Youtube will host the site and initially the content will be supported by the Universal Music Group.
The launch of this site is very much awaited as this site will become the largest music video related website on internet. This will be the first time when Youtube will be hosting content other than its own site.
Universal Music registered a domain name “vevo.com” on internet on 20 November 2008, the website now is under construction and the updates are provided to the people who subscribe by giving their mail address in the official site. The vevo launch is said to be somewhere around later this year around December.

The project vevo has recently received a strategic investment from Abu Dhabi based Media Company, the chairman and ceo of the Universal Music Group announced the deal finalized between the two companies in Mumbai. Now vevo is an independent and self funded entity with the initial shareholders like Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Abu Dhabi Media Company.
The funding from the shareholders will enable the project to get launched into the market with a big name and provide good and premium service to users. For the purpose of promotion of their project the companies are using many types of advertising techniques; they have an account in the largest used networking site “Twitter” to give an easy access to the user about the latest updates related to the project, Youtube is also actively participating in the promotional activities.
