    My community, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, experienced the worst flood of our lives last June. It was the worst flood in recorded history in this area. Not only did the water go beyond the FEMA maps' 100 Year Flood Plain, but also beyond the 500 Year Flood Plain maps and then several blocks beyond both flood plains.
