Creating a Website to Promote Your Art Work

Artists need to constantly and consistently promote their work in order to make sales and raise their profile. Even when you are working on a new collection of work, it is important to still have your other works available for view or purchase.

Many artists overlook the importance of a website of promoting themselves via the Internet. Websites are an incredible marketing tool that raises your profile and allows art collectors, buyers and galleries to keep up to date with your current activities.

Unless you are particularly interested in graphic design and web development it is perhaps unlikely that you have the time (or finances) to build a website that you can be happy with.

Even in the very simplest of sites you would need a biography / C.V page, a gallery of work and a contact section which would take quite a lot of time to create using HTML.  Getting a professional web designer in will often get a good job done, but this is often a very costly method of getting a website.

However, there is an alternative way to promote your work online by creating a website using online templates from an online website builder.  You’ll soon discover it’s much easier than you think.

With different colour schemes, layouts and style galleries all available for you to choose from you can mix and match different elements to create a website that meets your needs. You don’t need to spend a fortune in advance and as your website grows you can update your package to suit your needs. There are even ecommerce tools (that’s online shopping tools to you and me!) that allow you to sell your work online directly from your website.

No need to post out CVs and examples of work to buyers or galleries when you can easily pop a link to your website in an email.  And because you can control and edit the whole thing yourself, you don’t have to wait on someone else to do it for you, or expect the dreaded invoice to arrive in the post!
