Momma Cherri Recovers From Her Latest Kitchen Nightmare

With a catch cry of “Shak’s too small, House’s too big” - one of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares’ favourite characters is back with Momma Cherri’s Speakeasy (did anyone actually think that she wouldn’t keep fighting for her dream?? She was one of the only people in the history of Kitchen Nightmares to have Gordon Ramsay eat all of her food!!).

Momma Cherri has had her ups and downs, but she is back with her new establishment formerly known as the G-Lounge at 43 Providence Place in Brighton. For those who know the local area it is behind the London Road, next to the old Woolworths’ building and has easy access to Buses, Brighton Mainline Rail Station, A23, A27 as well as secure car parking 100 metres away.

Here’s how Momma Cherri’s website (mommacherri.co.uk) describes the new venue;

Laid out on two floors, you enter our backstreet bar on the Ground Floor which features a large bar, pool table, jukebox, cosy seating and momma’s corner shop where you can get Momma’s spices, seasonings, pies, sauces and cakes etc.

Moving uptown via a grand staircase onto the mezzanine level hang a right and you’re on Martin Luther King’s Black History Alley which doubles as a library and cocktail lounge or swing a left onto Obama Boulevard home to the Cherri Lounge, a small intimate and cosy setting which hosts max 40 covers for the meal and show.

Centre stage is where the Cherri Revue, a nightly hand picked singing, dancing, music extravaganza, taking it’s inspiration from the world famous soul and blues clubs : Cotton Club, Moulin Rouge, Vegas, New Orleans and of course Motown.

Momma’s gonna have Singers, Choirs, Groups, Bands, Dancers (Tap, Jazz Street-Styles), Musicians, Magicians, Comedians - specialist entertainers (including circus performers). Momma has big personalities, of all ages who will become the cool, select personnel and entertainment of MOMMA CHERRI’S SPEAKEASY.

Bar open 7pm ’till late. Bar food ’till midnight

Dinner and entertainment :

Fri. first sitting 7pm - 9pm ; Second sitting 10pm - midnight

Sat. first sitting 7pm - 9pm ; Second sitting 10pm - midnight

(£25 gets you 3 courses and the show)

Sunday is family day with a Gospel brunch 1pm -5pm Show 6pm - 8pm.

There will also be a small a la carte menu available at the Ground Floor bar.

Handling and Choosing the Tripod

Tripods are in precious help for making sharp pictures and you’ll be surprised if you compare the sharpness you can get with your camera on a tripod, as compared to pictures shot handheld.
