In today’s day and age when everyone is pressed for time and voice mail service can really come in handy. So, even if you are away or unable to answer the call at that moment, a message can be left so that the required work is done. Voicemail can be especially useful in the office, as you could be stuck in a meeting while an important messages needs to be delivered. With voicemail, it can be done without inconveniencing the caller, saving previous time and energy for all parties involved.
What is the need for Voice Mail?
In the early 70’s and 80’s during recession, there was a decrease of the secretary to employee ration within companies. Soon there was chaos, as there were too many calls waiting, which resulted in the loss of business. Soon, employers came up with a solution and created a message centre so a person was appointed to receive everyone’s calls and take the messages if they did not require speaking to the person.
Also, at the extension board, the operators could determine if the person who was asked for by the caller was on another call, and then respond accordingly by taking a message, or asking them to call back. This saved time and energy for everyone, but it was a difficult task as operators were at times unfamiliar with the employee’s names. This resulted in the “pink slips”, which were used to write down the details of the call to be unsatisfactory and of no use, as it contained no vital information.
Even then the uses or recorded messages were not a solution, as the answering machine had to be attached to every telephone and even then the messages could not be taken if the user was on another call.
The solution was the voice mail system, which not only stored messages when the user was on another call, but also allowed the user to improve the flow of communication and save money. Voice Mailboxes allows any subscriber to send messages to another mailbox without having to call them.

• You can even personalise the forwarded message with a voice introduction.
• You can even play different messages to greet different callers.
• If you want to transfer callers to another phone number for personal assistance, you can even do that.
