Bridal Shower Invitations – What You Should Know

Bridal showers aren’t as prestigious as other holidays; however, the bridal shower invitations are just as critical to pulling off the event without a hitch. The maid of honor or bridesmaid group is solely responsible for setting up the pivotal bridal shower. Planning the shower might be a team effort. Teams can create arguments and dissension though, and that’s why bridal shower plans are often left to one team leader. This team leader is responsible for coordinating the timing with all the potential guests and sending out the bridal shower invitations, amongst other activities. She is also responsible for food preparation, festive activities at the shower, and the sequence of events at the bridal shower. For example, a movie, possibly a good chick flick, might be shown at the end of the bridal shower.

Bridal shower invitations are absolutely critical to pulling off the event successfully due to the simple fact that many people are out of sync with schedules and they need a constant, paper-based reminder of the event on their refrigerator or desk. Some people have real trouble when it comes to the time of an event; they might remember the day, but they don’t remember the time. Make sure that bridal shower is kosher for all the potential guests. The date is critical because even one person left out can ruin the party. However, a surrogate gift-giver can give their gift in place of the original attendant.

The maid of honor is also responsible for the budget. She needs to host the bridal shower at least a few weeks to a few months prior to the wedding. Some women prefer hotel ballrooms, banquet halls, and other fancy regalia, but some women like the quiet intimacy of the indoors. Make sure your friend, the bride, has made her intentions clear, explicitly. It just wouldn’t do to host an improper bridal shower.

Food planning is also important because women can showcase their cooking skills. Sometimes, bridal showers are concomitantly supportive of potluck-like activities. Movies are put on, and the whole event turns out be one big get-together.

None of this would be possible without bridal shower invitations.

Friends should be given invitations only after they’ve all been checked out by the maid of honor for schedule conflicts. Conduct an informal date check with all the potential guests; then, do a formal invitation with the official date when all the guests have been approved to show up on time, etc.
