Mae Andrea is a professional writer who collects wedding favors and wedding related articles. Another interesting part of her collections is the list of wedding songs especially gathered for all couples out there.
After the formalities of the wedding day are over it is time for you and your guests to kick back and have fun on the dance floor to a selection of carefully chosen wedding songs. Your evening reception is the culmination of months of careful planning and this the time when you can breathe a sigh of relief that it all went well and enjoy yourself.
Choosing wedding songs for your evening festivities does require much thought and careful selection. Get them wrong and your dance floor could remain empty for most of the night and have your guests heading for the door!
Your first decision is how you want your entertainment presented. Do you want a live band, a singer, a disco or a combination of two of these? A disco is the most popular choice because it gives greater freedom over the music played and the track selection. A band and singer may only know a small selection of tracks by comparison.
What is important is that with any of these choices you arrange to see them performing before you hire them. To not do so is at your peril as you could be left with entertainers who are way off key!
Another option is to use an MP3 player or a selection of CDs. If your venue has a good sound system then this is a cost effective option and this is a particularly good choice for a small, intimate wedding. You will need to ensure all of your chosen wedding songs are loaded and appoint someone to take charge of ensuring the music never stops!
When it comes to choosing your wedding songs you could have a mammoth task ahead of you. If you are hiring a DJ then they can probably direct you to some tried and tested classics that will keep any party going. Bands and singers will have a list of songs that they are comfortable with. But with all of these you should try to inject a little of your own personality in to the evening entertainment, so don’t be afraid to add one or two choice tracks of your own to the play list – so long as they won’t offend anyone that is!
If you want to make your own playlist then you will need to do some research, find out the best disco tunes and ultimately listen to a vast array of music to find that perfect blend of music for your wedding. No mean feat, but it can be done. Load up your MP3 player with a selection of random tracks and listen to them as you do other things, perhaps when you go for a run or down the gym, or as your make your wedding favors or write out your invitations.
You can also visit online music directory sites which will have a big library of potential wedding songs for you to listen too. Look for those sites that have a rating system applied to each track and can give you the lyrics as well – some songs may seem great but when you dig deeper into the lyrics you could discover all is not as it seems, songs about dying love and lovers committing suicide are not appropriate for a wedding!
