Festive Wedding Songs

Are you having a festive wedding this year? If so, then why not think about adding some festive wedding songs to your wedding play list. Your choice of wedding songs provides the soundtrack to your wedding day and festive favorites are the perfect choice.

You may want to include some traditional Christmas carols during the service and as background music during the cocktail hour and wedding breakfast. Or if you are having a more relaxed wedding, get in the party spirit with ‘Frosty the Snowman’ and ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’!

If you have really thrown everything at a festive wedding themed, then choosing Christmas songs will provide the perfect finishing touch. In fact not including could leave you and your guests feeling like something is missing.

Traditional Christmas carols sung by a church choir are amazingly atmospheric and perfect for the occasion of a wedding. They also put people in the party mood, filling them with warmth and happiness and a sense of family and occasion – just what you want at a wedding. Add some cheesy Christmas chart hits to the mix during the evening party and you have the perfect recipe for fun and frivolity!

Why not take your first dance to ‘I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus’ or Chris Rhea’s ‘Driving Home for Christmas’? Also think about having your wedding songs played by live musicians.

A string quartet, harpist or pianist at your wedding ceremony could make your choice of songs sound unforgettable and a live band playing Christmas hits during the evening party will certainly get everyone up and dancing. Don’t over do it though! Add a selection of songs in during the course of the day, so that they compliment the theme without overwhelming it. Choose plenty of other personal choices too and make sure that there is something for everyone when it comes to the evening entertainment.

Choosing a song which everyone knows can also make for a great feature on your wedding video, especially if you can get everyone together to sing along. Or why not take it a step further and hire a karaoke machine and get everyone singing Christmas songs instead! It will provide lots of memorable fun and some great moments on your video and wedding photographs!

A wedding with a Christmas theme would not seem right without at least a handful of Christmas songs, traditional and modern, thrown into the playlist. Choose some personal favorites and classics that everyone will know, it really adds to the ambience of the day and will bring back wonderful memories each year when you hear the same songs being played.
