Groom Speeches - how to nail it at the first place

Groom speeches are supposed to be the somewhat reticent than the wedding speeches. It's neither emotional as the father of the bride speech nor it is hilarious as the best man speech. But it is perfectly ok to include a bit of both in your speech. But at the same time you should bear in mind that those elements do help you to make your speech better.

The bride and the groom get the chance to express their feelings in front of the wedding crowd at their reception. While the bride's speech doesn't have any particular structure whatsoever, the groom speech by and large follows a systematic pattern.

Groom speeches by and large begin with welcoming everyone for taking their time to attend the wedding and making the day exceptionally special for the newly weds.

The groom expresses his thanks to his parents as well as the parents of his newly wed bride for raising them and making them the person that they are. He also specially thanks the bride's parents and family for accepting him as a new member of their family and expresses how happy he is to become a part of it.
A traditional groom speech is all about the groom thanking the people for their respective roles. It's also about saying a few words of praise to the bride and the bridesmaids and finally makes way for the best man for his speech.

All groom speeches have something in common. They have a part solely dedicated to the bride where the groom says or rather express how happy and fortunate he is to get her as his wife. He conveys his gratitude to the bride for saying "Yes" to his proposal to marry him. In his groom speech, the groom can also share some memories like how they met each other and if that was love at first sight or did she kept him wondering for a long time .... You got the idea.

The groom should also remember to thank those who attended the wedding especially those who have to travel a long way just to wish them on their wedding day. He must not also forget to thank the best man and the bridesmaids. As an expression of gratitude the groom proposes a toast to the bridesmaids.

In the event of absence of a MC, it's the duty of the groom to introduce the best man to the guest while he is wrapping up his speech. He could also consider saying a few words about how he shares his relation with the best man. This is nothing but helping the best man to pick up the cue and continue from where the groom left. However, best man speeches are quite different in nature compared to groom speeches.

You can take your groom speech to the next level by taking out some time from your busy schedule doing some research, putting your thoughts together and coming up with a nice groom speech. And yes, you should rehearse your speech (preferably in front of family members) to make it even more perfect.
