One Of The Best Things To Plan For In Your Wedding Is Time To Renew

One of the most exciting times in anyone’s life is when they are planning their wedding. There are so many people involved and a lot of hopes to meet and make real, but it’s important to remember that in the midst of all the planning there needs to be downtime for both the bride and groom if you want the experience to be joyful and enjoyable.

With all the endless details to consider and decide upon, it’s no wonder that the time building up to the ceremony can seem to be a bit of a treadmill. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you’re going through the planning process in the hopes that they’ll keep you balanced.

1. Starting 2 months before the big day, make one night a week a “wedding free” night. From 6:00 at night to 8:00 the next morning, have nothing to do with the event. No phone calls, no decision, no lists, no notes. Take an entire evening to focus on your life at the moment and maybe even set the night aside as a date night. It’s surprisingly difficult to do actually but if you’re able to let the reins go for an evening you’ll be refreshed in the morning and ready to go sample cake and look at endless gowns.

2. Make sure that the only thing that both of you have to do on the day of the ceremony is sleep in a bit, eat a leisurely breakfast and then be pampered and fussed over all day. Handle all the details and schedule everything for the days leading up to the ceremony. If something absolutely has to be done that day then delegate it to someone else. If you find that a particular person has a habit of rubbing you the wrong way then make sure to schedule them in a different location than you for the time before the ceremony. You want to stand up and marry each other with joy and love, not with stress and frustration.

These may seem like simple ideas and truthfully they are. But for many couples, the last thing they are thinking of is how to best take care of themselves before and during their wedding. Set up some downtime in advance and take advantage of the once in a lifetime joy of your special day.
