With the rising popularity of personalized wedding favors come photograph wedding favors as well. Seems we can’t get enough of presenting our guests with mug shots of ourselves looking outrageously happy!
That said you can also give your guests photograph favors that don’t have your faces plastered all over them! Here are a few ideas:
Magnets, Keyrings and Coasters: Craft stores and stationers will stock a range of DIY kits for making up fridge magnets and drinks coasters into which you can insert an image of your choice.
I personally think it is always a good idea to shy away from inserting pictures of yourself in these types of favors. Sad as it may seem, but unless your guests are family or particularly close friends, they are unlikely to ever utilize said favor and instead hide it away for all eternity! Instead look for something different but which relates to your wedding and yourselves, a caricature for instance or an image representative of your wedding theme (if you are having one).
Alternatively get your camera out and take a picture yourself. If you are getting married in a particularly scenic location, then why not take a photograph of that, perhaps at sunset or even sunrise. Another suggestion is to spell out a message using natural elements and photograph that, for instance, if your wedding was taking place on a beach you could write the words ‘thank you’ in the sand and photograph them. A quick bit of editing at home on the computer and you’re ready to go!
Photograph Frames: Favor stores are packed with frames of various shapes and sizes, colors and themes, so you should have no problem finding one to fit with your wedding.
Save yourself some cash and employ small frames as name card holders, your guests can then take them afterwards. Alternatives to frames are holders which use clips or grooves to hold a card or photograph in place. These are often quite whimsical and come in various shapes such as pineapples, shells and even miniature chairs! These make nice favors as they can be used for a variety of other purposes after the wedding.
Photograph Albums: You will find a range of mini photo albums in many favor stores and these are possibly my favorite photo favor idea. They allow your guests to create their own record of your wedding day with a small album dedicated to your special day!
Some have apertures on the front so you could insert a photograph of yourselves prior to giving them out. If you don’t have hundreds to give out, then why not write a personal message of thanks inside the front cover?
