Planning a Beach Wedding – Things You Need to Remember

Planning a beach wedding could be quite a challenge, but is also bound to be fun and exciting. A successful beach wedding will prove to be most rewarding and truly memorable in the years to come. Couples who have made a decision to exchange vows on the warm sand with the sunset in the backdrop should start planning early, at least six months before the big day.

Success in planning a beach wedding relies on a few very important factors. If the following guidelines are taken to heart, there is no stopping anyone from realizing a dream beach wedding.

Location

Of course, the very first decision the couple and wedding planners must make is on the perfect wedding location. List down all the beach locations you are interested in before narrowing the list down until you find which one suits your taste and budget. It is necessary to visit your prospects personally. In choosing a beach, do research on how private it is, would it require a permit, when its peak tourist season is, whether it allows guests to bring equipment, and how accessible it would be for wedding guests. Check for facilities for children, the elderly, and disabled.

Timing

Once you have finalized a location, make a  booking right away, if necessary. This is to make sure that you get married exactly on your desired wedding date. Deciding on your wedding date could be also tricky. Fortunately, weather reports and locals could help you learn which months of the year you are less likely to experience rain or hurricanes. Another thing you should watch out for is the tides.

After you set a wedding date, you now have to decide what time the wedding will take place. The most ideal time of the day to hold your beach wedding is just before the sun sets. The soft afternoon light is flattering in photographs. Afternoons are also less hot and humid, ensuring that your guests will be comfortable. There are also less people on the beach during sunset.

Rehearsals

Wedding rehearsals are important in foreseeing and addressing potential problems before they happen. Wedding planners could give you suggestions with regard to the program, how members of the entourage are going to be positioned, what kinds of chairs you are going to use, among other details. Have a dry run of the ceremony. Hold dress rehearsals if possible. The materials to be used for the bridal gown, the men's suits, and the entourage's garments should be light and simple. Decide on whether your dress code and include it in the invitations.

Preparation

The key to successful planning a beach wedding is to be prepared for anything that could happen. A back-up plan in case anything goes wrong (i.e. if it rains or it becomes to windy and so on) should be available. Adequate preparation is also needed for the convenience and comfort of your guests. Make sure you pay attention to every detail, including their transportation, accommodations, food, and other things they might need such as flip-flops, sunblock, and so on.

Beach weddings are surely expensive but utterly romantic. Do not break down if some things go beyond your control. What matters is the reason behind the ceremony and the celebration of love.
