Choosing a gift for the bridal party is usually seen as a difficult task because of the variety of options that are available. There are several options to consider before buying these gifts and the first is to follow the theme of your wedding. If you are the bride or groom, here are a few things you should keep in mind before choosing gifts for the members of your bridal party.
The most important thing to consider before any decision is made is the amount of money that you are willing to spend for these gifts. There are so many affordable options available today and the ideas that a limited budget should not put a damper on your festivities. However, it should set the tone for all other decisions to be made. For example, are you going to buy gifts for your bridal party, or are you planning to buy some things and make others? Today there are a variety of DIY, or do-it-yourself kits that make creating gift boxes and other items an affordable treat.
Not to mention, a great selection of gifts that can fit any budget. You can find some of today’s trendiest gifts, like wedding ball caps and tote bags for an affordable price.
Another key consideration is the people. The number of people in your bridal party also influences the type of gifts that you choose. It is here that you should decide who in your bridal party would be receiving a gift. Will you give a gift to everyone in your bridal party, or just select individuals or groups. For example, are you going to get gifts for parents only, or just the bridesmaids and/or groomsmen?
It is important that the men in your bridal party get gender appropriate gifts. For example, tote bags are a hot trend in bridal party gifts ideas, but you should stay away from them for the groomsmen. You can opt for the personalized messenger bags instead. Age appropriateness should also be a factor, there are some hipper trends today in bridal party gifts, that you may not want to present to the parents of the bride and groom and any other older members, like the trendy flasks. On the same note, you want to get gifts for your ring bearer and flower girl(s) that they can relate to and appreciate. Be mindful as to not offend anyone and this is one important reason for taking your time when deciding on which gifts to purchase for those in your wedding.
The gifts that you choose can follow a theme whether it is the same as the wedding celebration or a separate theme altogether. Many bridal parties follow the colors, theme, and/or general tone of the wedding. Those with a more traditional ceremony often choose classic bridal party gifts, such as picture frames. However, this is not always the case. Some gifts revolve less around the wedding theme and instead they may be based on other factors, such as the season. Theme can be funny, creative, or traditional. These are just a few commonly chosen themes for a wedding party gift. You should consider the personality of those receiving the gifts.
Next, you need to ask yourself, if you plan to have these gifts personalized or customized. Typically, personalizing can refer to having the bridal party member’s name, or something about them within or on their specific gifts. These types of gifts are great for smaller bridal parties. When, you have more than four bridesmaids and groomsmen, the time needed to think of how to personalize each gift could become a chore, especially if you have decided to pick out gifts individually, as opposed to buying the same gift for everyone. Customizing can refer to just adding any type of wording, phrase, or picture that in some way represents the actual wedding or bride and groom.
If you are a member of the bridal party and new to choosing gifts for the bride and groom, here are a few things you should consider. If the gifts are given to them individually, gifts for the bride and groom should follow along the lines of those for other members of your bridal party. For example, your bridesmaids or parents may choose to get a cute picture frame or tote bag for the bride, while the groom may received personalized golfer’s tool or ball marker belt clip.
Wedding gifts for the wife and groom as a couple are usually practical gifts that they will be able to use for years, like luggage. On the other hand, small sentimental gifts designed to be constant reminders of their special day, such as picture frames, vases, and figurines can be chosen for the bridal party. However, these are the most common humorous gift ideas like the wedding T-shirts are sure to make them smile. There are many great gift ideas to choose from whether you want it to be humorous or serious. Remember to take your time and explore all possible gift ideas and you are sure to find the best gift for your bridal party.
