Themed Wedding Favors

Themes are popular at many weddings these days, but they can present brides with a bit of a headache when it comes to finding wedding favors. Choosing colors, decorations and even your wedding attire can be easy but favors present a different set of problems for the themed wedding.

Wedding themes are becoming ever more elaborate and authentic, so it is little wonder that favors can be a problem. Trying to find suitable favors for a wedding with a Renaissance theme can be near impossible – unless you know what to look for that is.

Popular wedding themes include fairytale, Asian and beach (although I think this is more to do with location than theme). But many couples want to have a theme that is less popular and certainly more unique to them. So when it comes to finding the right wedding favors what can you do?

Firstly you need to research your theme, particularly if you are choosing a theme based on an historical era such as medieval or on a period such as art deco. Check out reference books at your local library and make notes on things that were popular at the time or on particular features such as design, motifs, fabrics and colors. Much of this you may already have from designing the look of your wedding reception with decorations etc, so it can also be a good idea to go back through your previous notes.

Make some research online, not only for accurate details and descriptions but also for ideas from other brides and wedding professionals. The internet has revolutionized the way we search for information and is also crammed full of personal blogs and pages giving ideas and suggestions which could be useful.

Finally bring together family and friends and have a brainstorming session. You could be surprised by the amount of knowledge those close to you have and the kinds of ideas they come up with.

When you have got together plenty of ideas it is time to go through them and consider whether or not they will fit with your wedding style, if you can make them fit with your wedding colors and more importantly if you like them! Wedding favors should not only coordinate with the wedding theme and style but they need to say something about you as a couple and be a reflection of your own style and tastes.

Wedding themes are wonderful for any kind of wedding but they do bring with them their own set of problems, not least of which are the wedding favors! When it comes to your favors you will need to be creative with your choices and they way you present them. If all else fails then an every day favor such as a candle, which can fit to almost any wedding, will suffice, you can then theme the packaging to fit your wedding.
