The thousand dollar plus price tag can be tough to swallow for a dress that is worn once. Want to have a dress to call "your own"? Check out consignment shops or even EBay. You can find designer dresses for a fraction of the original cost. Check in with your mother or grandmother, perhaps their dress is in good condition and perhaps you will be able to make something old, something new. If you can't avoid a large guest list, consider a buffet dinner. Often this is a less expensive option than a plated dinner.
