The wedding list is gradually changing to add green and eco friendly products. The Bride and Groom are becoming aware of their carbon footprints even in the gift list published at your local department store for guests to make a selection.
There is now a bewildering array of choices from donations to carbon neutral companies offering to distribute donations to eco friendly projects to the plant a tree method of carbon offset each time you take a flight or long car journey.
Call me boring if you like but I cannot envisage visiting the local park to plant a tree each time I think about a taking a trip.
The modern wall mounted airer does that for me every day instead of planting a tree I simply have to make the decision to hang my clothes on the drying rack and brew a cup of tea and while I read my favourite magazine my carbon offset simply grows and grows.
The story of the clothes line or washing line started with the idea of spreading clothes to dry on bushes then long twigs tied together and swung between branches. With the development of rope the washing line really came into its own.
Today the variable weather forces us indoors and many resort to using a tumble dryer, which according to a report, uses an average of 460 kw/hours per year per household. With so much pressure on all of us to cut carbon emissions it is so easy to stop using your tumble dryer and switch to the eco friendly natural drying system.
Wall mounted airers come in various lengths and types. They are made from different materials to cope with light or heavy-duty usage. They expand/extend to different lengths and take various loads depending on the size of your family or wash.
Combining floor mounted airers with wall mounted, above and in the bath washing lines and portable airers gives the complete drying system which is totally energy free and removes the need to use or even own a tumble dryer.
When next you are called to give a wedding gift or for that matter any gift think of the airer as not only a gift of value but as an easy way for the recipient of the gift to be carbon neutral.
Besides every time they use their airer they will think of you!
