Beach weddings are a popular choice for many couples and particularly those who do not want a formal and grand wedding day. Beaches lend themselves to a more relaxed and laid back atmosphere, so you should try to coordinate your wedding favors with that feel in mind.
Favor stores are packed with many different types of favors for a beach themed wedding, including shell designs on candles and bottle stoppers, to designs incorporating starfish and sail boats. Here are a few ideas for creating your own wedding favors with a beach theme.
Create your own message in a bottle with some miniature bottles with cork stoppers. Put some fine sand and tiny shells in the bottom and then make out your thank you message on some parchment style paper. Roll it up tightly and tie with a piece of raffia then insert it into the bottle and push the stopper back in.
Find a company that can print personalized messages onto sand dollars which you could give as favors. Sand dollars are also a popular design element for beach themed wedding stationery and as a decoration for many things from favor boxes to candle holders. You could also write on them with a fine pen and use them as place cards.
Give each of your guests a bucket and spade and hold a sand castle building competition after the wedding breakfast. Have a bottle of champagne on hand for the winner and ask one of your child guests or junior members of your wedding party to be the judge.
Give your guests flip flops to wear on the beach so they don’t damage their expensive wedding shoes. You can purchase these with personalization as well making them great as wedding favors! Put them in baskets and add signs saying the size and inviting your guests to take a pair.
Edibles are always a popular choice and traditional beach themed wedding favors include sea shell shaped chocolates and candies in a beach themed favor box. Why not have custom cookies made in beach themed shapes but instead of shells and palm trees, go for bikinis, sunglasses and trunks!
Keep your guests cool with personalized fans, parasols and baseball hats. All of these can be personalized and your guests will appreciate having something to keep them cool during the wedding ceremony.
Create your own fridge magnets by taking photographs of your venue at different times of the day or by writing your thank you message in the sand and taking a picture. You can purchase fridge magnet kits from most craft stores or find a stationers to make them for you.
