Weddings 101: Wedding Invitations

The union of two people in love never fails to make people smile. It is for this reason that weddings appear to be the kind of occasion that are always close to people’s hearts. No wonder couples try their best to have the best wedding possible.

From the wedding invitations to the thank you cards, everything involving the big day must be perfect. When it comes to wedding invitations, nothing can replace the following wedding 101 tips:

>Have a wedding invitation plan.

Your wedding invitation represents the ceremony that will happen. Therefore, it must be able to stand-up for you and your soon-to-be husband’s or wife’s feelings. As such, it is a must for the two of you to have a blueprint of the wedding invitations. Picture its design and imagine its contents.

>Be in sync with wedding theme.

As with all other elements of your wedding, your wedding invitations must also reinforce your wedding theme. It should never stand alone. Your wedding invitations will give guests a feel of how the ceremony will be like so it must always be in sync to your wedding theme.

>Count the visitors.

List down the names of your visitors to identify the number of wedding invitations you will need. Doing so will give you an idea of the budget you will need to prepare for the printing or purchasing of wedding invitations.

>Determine the budget.

Wedding invitations do not come free. You need to have a workable budget. Aside from the amount you will spending for the wedding invitations, also calculate postage or shipping fees you will need for sending them (especially if you plan to invite people living in a different country). Don’t scrimp but don’t splurge.  Bear in mind that wedding invitations do not constitute your whole wedding so you don’t need to allot a big budget for it.

>Add some creativity.

Aside from the usual wedding invitations designs, try to add a touch of you and your loved ones personality to your wedding invitations. This way, your invitations will surely stand out. Sprinkling it with your own creativity also makes wedding invitations more personalised.

>Be realistic.

Although you plan on making your wedding perfect, this does not mean that you should veer away from reality. Do not expect the impossible from your wedding planner. If you have a tight budget, make sure that your wedding invitations expenses fall under it. Don’t expect more if you can only provide less.

>Have a checklist.

Unsent wedding invitations are a waste of time and money. Work on a timeline when sending out invitations. Have a master checklist to ensure that each of your visitors have received their copies of your wedding invitation.

>Provide your contact details.

Whether you want an RSVP or not, make sure that you include your contact details in the wedding invitations. This will give your visitors an opportunity to confirm their attendance on your special day. They could also contact you or your wedding planner in case they get lost on the way.
