The most effective way to lose stubborn belly fat is through regular cardio exercise and a sensible diet. Concentrating all your exercising efforts on to your mid-range with crunches and sit-ups etc just doesn’t work. What you will need is a full-body training plan including cardio and resistance exercising.
Your belly fat is, in simple terms, a build of stored energy which needs to be burned off, so the aim is to burn more calories through exercising than the calories that we eat. Getting the right mix of exercise and diet will greatly improve your chances of burning belly fat and so having a more appealing stomach.
Below are the cardio exercises that I personally rate as the best 3 for burning belly fat.
- Running. – This, in my opinion, is the best cardio exercise for burning belly fat and there are a few reasons why I rate it as the no.1 exercise. You don’t need any special equipment (apart from running shoes), you can do it almost anywhere and you can burn a serious amount of calories. On the downside, to be comfortable with running you will need to do it on a regular basis and keep a check on any discomfort in you knees and ankles.
- Cycling. – This is another excellent calorie burner. Cycling can be done inside or outside. Using the power in your legs it’s possible (depending on how fast you cycle and how high the resistance) to burn 250 – 300 calories in 30 minutes. A little investment needed for a decent bike, but the rewards are well worth it.
- Step Aerobics. – Still a very popular exercise and with good reason. Step aerobics is a tough workout that targets the legs, backside and hips burning off large amounts of unwanted calories in the process. Step aerobics looks complicated, but with a bit of practise can soon be mastered.
Using the above 3 exercises will greatly help with the reduction of your unwanted belly fat and help you on your way to a flat, healthy stomach. Remember, though, that you will need a sensible diet too as well as the exercises. Having the wrong diet will mean you have to work harder to burn off the calories.
