Losing weight can be a struggle. Many people try it but end up giving up. They know that having the extra weight is not good for them but they can’t motivate themselves to shift those pounds. This is the same scenario as smokers, they know that smoking is bad for them but they will continue smoking because they don’t want to put in the effort to give up. The only way to lose weight is by motivating yourself to do it. For example if you smoked a lot and you were told that the tar in your body would kill you by next year would you quit smoking? Yes because you don’t want to die now do you? The same goes for weight loss there are actually a lot of motivational sectors for losing weight and in this article I will go through the top 3.
Firstly, losing weight keeps you healthy. Being overweight means that you may have/get high blood pressure, strokes, cancer, diabetes and heart problems. Most weight loss methods include some sort of exercise and exercise will keep you healthy and stop you from getting any of those problems mentioned above. By tackling your "weight problem" you will reduce the risk of these problems and you will grow up to see your kids or grandchildren and I think that that is big motivation for losing weight.
Secondly, you will feel a whole lot better. When you are overweight you will feel tired quite a lot because you will have reduced energy levels (the extra weight can feel like a burden at times and that will bring down your energy levels). This leads to less physical activity and this causes the fat that you intake everyday to pile up and become stored in your body. By losing weight you will start to feel your energy levels rising, you will be able to do physical sports which will aid to even more weight loss and soon you will start to feel a lot better.
The final reason is how good you will look. When you wake up in the morning and see yourself in the mirror do you like what you see? Do you imagine yourself with less fat? Well weight loss can turn you into that. Most people hate something about themselves, for instance I hate my hair but do you know what I did? I got it done and now I love it! The point I’m trying to get to here is that if you don’t like the way you look do something about it. A lot of people who are overweight and don’t like the way they look go on weight loss diets and as they see themselves losing weight, their self-esteem rockets through the sky. They will no longer be ashamed to take their top of at the beach. Changing how you look will also get you noticed, your friends will start saying things like have you lost weight, you look good and other compliments.
As I said before, losing weight can be a struggle without motivation. Once you have got some motivation then start losing weight and don’t give up because you can’t be bothered, do you really want heart diseases or strokes? I didn’t think so.
