Cabbage soup diet is a 7-day, low calorie diet where it allows people to eat as much Cabbage Soup as they want each day. The more soup you eat the more weight you should lose. People try this even though it tastes awful because they think it’s healthy. Being a fad diet, it is also considered hazardous for your health. Here are the reasons why cabbage soup is not ideal for losing weight quickly.

What can cabbage do for you and what can it not do? The cabbage is an excellent source of vitamin K and vitamin C. Have a raw cabbage salad to maximize the intake of vitamin K and C (vitamin C is quickly destroyed at high temperatures so the more you cook the cabbage, the less chances to preserve its important vitamins). Also, one cup of cabbage will provide you with almost 15% percent of your daily fiber needs.
Even though the cabbage diet is rich in vitamins, minerals and even the oh-so-great omega 3 fatty acids, still it completely lacks calories. One cup has about 33 calories. And it makes you feel full for a long time. Cabbage will travel very slow through your system and will make it easier for you not to feel hungry.
Eating cabbage soup and nothing else will affect your body because for your brain to operate, you need a healthy amount of fat intake so your brain will shift from consuming fat from food and reserves to consuming fat stored in muscles and major organs. You have to remember that the brain is responsible in adjusting the metabolism of your body so the brain knows when the food you eat is not enough for your energy. The less food you eat, the less energy you will gain. Eating cabbage soup is like losing muscle tissues, feeling down and being depressed. Would you choose a less active life or live a healthy life? The choice depends upon you.
