Are You Ready For Change?
If you are going to lose a lot of excessive weight I suggest that you not follow the ridiculous diets claiming to reduce your weight in ‘no-time’. If you try to lose 80 pounds in 3 months it is extremely hazardous to your health to follow one of those diets.
You see, the fast weight loss diets means that you lose weight but not necessarily fat. In fact, you will only lose very little fat, the major weight loss comes from water weight and lean muscle-mass. The ratio of fast weight loss is approximately 20% fat, 40% water and 40% muscle. The water is gained once you stop the diet but not your muscle because you have told your body that you need fat more than you need muscle.
How did you do that?
Well, for starters you reduced your calorie intake during the diet making you body looking for extra energy in other places. Your body are pre-programmed how to cope with this situation through evolution. In the first phase it will adjust the metabolism to fit your calorie intake. In the 2nd phase it starts to look for storages of energy within your body. It finds to reserves, muscle and fat. The body wants to keep the fat for a rainy day thus it starts to metabolize your muscle mass.
The water you lose is mainly because you reduce your total water intake. Water is really important to the body as you know. The body consists of 70% water. Water is used in a lot of necessary processes in your body. One process that is very important while being on a diet is the transports of metabolic waste. If you do not get rid of this waste it will be stored in the subcutaneous fat and give you cellulite.
Losing excessive weight safely means that you need to change some fundamental behaviors, and as we all know it not easy to learn a dog to sit. The changes, however, is not that major. You need to reduce your calorie intake to some extent and you need to start exercising. Easy? Apparently not, 95% of all the people that go on a diet fail. That is the sad truth. The following question is vital, why do the 5% succeed?
The difference between those that succeed and those that fail depends on a lot of factors. First of all, to be a successful dieter you need an attitude change towards food and eating habits. You also need to understand the importance of exercising.
These are just two factors of importance and there are several more. To be a successful dieter you need to think of why you are successful in other areas of your life. You are successful because you learn and accomplish. Losing weight is no different. Success depends on everything from thought to action to result.
