My personal opinion concering eating protein and meat to keep weight off is that you are eating too many acidic foods and throwing the body into an unhealthy situation. Eating has been the hardest part of every attempt to lose weight. Every new diet sells us a new reason why we can't lose weight and how their diet is the answer.
When we focus on exercising to lose weight and what it's going to give us, we usually pick exercise that is calorie burning and usually very hard with little regard to what we might enjoy. So, forget exercising to lose weight. Exercise for yourself even if you don't lose weight.
I find the first plateau to be a critical time because most people give up in frustration if they feel they are working hard to lose weight. According to the nation's doctors, only ten percent of the millions of people who set out to lose 30 or more pounds actually manage to accomplish the feat. And among that tiny fraction of successful dieters, only five percent are able to maintain the new , lower weight for more than a few months.
The bottom line: 99 percent of those who set out to lose 30 pounds or more and keep it off ultimately fail at the task. When the best advice of recognized experts results in dismal failure of weight loss and maintenance, what is the overweight person supposed to do to defeat his weight problem?
You can "lose the weight you hate". Relax and begin enjoying the process of losing the weight.
To paraphrase General Colin Powell (while referring to the Iraqi army): "We are going to find the cause of your weight problem - and then we are going to kill it." Although few people realize it, losing weight has almost nothing to do with "will power".
Their weight problem is a function of where their metabolic machinery directs the storage of sugar. You'll actually gain weight by skipping breakfast.
Until recently, most diet formulators based their weight loss methods on reducing total calories. The reason that foods containing sugar make you gain weight is not because they contain sugar. The reason that foods containing starch make you gain weight is not because they contain starch.
You must eat lots of nutritious carbohydrates to lose weight. Don't focus on reducing total calories; focus on the nutrient that is making you fat - FAT.
Although many people begin with the false impression that they must limit all food to lose weight, they soon learn that they can eat a lot of food (albeit low fat, fiber rich food) and still lose.
