One Time That Being a Loser is a Good Thing

Growing up, we all quickly learn that kids can be cruel. They might decide to pick on you, tease your or call you names and you’re never really sure why. As an adult, there are times when name calling can be just as damaging. For example no one be it child or adult likes to be called a loser. When you’re a child, it means that people don’t like you. As an adult it might mean that you’re not taking care of business, or that you’re unreliable. There are many names we can think of that are particularly unpleasant. As we go through life there are certain things that we want to be associated with, as well as things that we don’t. But can you imagine a time where being called a loser would be a good thing? That day has come.

In fact, each year there are people battling it out to gain the title of The Biggest Loser. There is one time where being a loser can be extremely rewarding and being the Biggest Loser actually pays $250,000. There is a weight loss reality TV show called the Biggest Loser where contestants compete against each other to lose weight, win prizes and learn important life lessons about becoming healthy individuals. The Biggest Loser is a show that focuses on weight loss rather than personal gain as some other reality shows do. Of course with any reality show, there comes a cash prize at the end. Biggest Loser has worked hard not to focus solely on that though.

Biggest Loser is more about people taking charge of their lives, losing weight and becoming the healthy individuals they long to be. There are two personal trainers assigned to the show. Each personal trainer works out with their perspective team while they are at the Biggest Loser ranch. These trainers are tough and force the contestants to deal with some of the issues they have that might have led to their weight gain. The trainers and other contestants are really the only support system each contestant has. They are secluded from the outside world while they are on the show in usual reality TV fashion.

Contestants also have to participate in challenges each week. Because Biggest Loser is a weight loss show, the challenges always have some sort of exercise involved. Prizes for winning challenges often include messages or phone calls from home, an advantage at the weigh in or immunity for the week. When it’s all said and done, there is only one person crowned Biggest Loser on the show. But you have at least 20 people that got to learn some life lessons while trying to stay away from elimination during the course of the show. And there’s a second prize that is awarded to the Biggest Loser of those that were sent home.
