Problems With Rapid Weight Loss

Many people interested in losing excess weight usually end up at one time or another trying out a rapid weight loss diet or program that usually is intended to lose several pounds (sometimes between 5-10) within only a few days. These diets are not designed to be used indefinitely but rather only for a few days at a time with a lengthy break inbetween.

A lot of these people interested in losing weight quickly want to do so for a special occasion or event such as a wedding or vacation. While it is possible to fat at an increased rate, you also need to be aware of the possible dangers and need to be cautious when using a very extreme type of diet.

In order to lose weight as fast as possible, people resort to all kinds of drastic measures such as not eating any food at all or very little food. Failing to provide your body with it's required nutrition can be dangerous to your wellbeing and health. A much more healthier alternative is to simply slightly reduce your daily calorie intake based on the recommended calorie intake for your body type. Reduction of around 2-500 calories is considered a normal range.

As well as healthy eating, one of the most important components to any weight loss plan is exercise. It usually takes several weeks to see any results from your exercising so you need to make sure that you don't over-do it. You need to introduce an exercise regime slowly and allow time for your body to adjust otherwise you could end up very sore and feeling exhausted which will discourage you from future exercise. Instead of starting at 5 hours of using the treadmill a day try maybe just 5 minutes and increase to 10 minutesthe week after and slowly build up from there.

Another major problem associated with fast weight loss is that of medications and questionable products such as pills, drinks and patches. Although some of these products do actually work and are generally safe to use, sometimes you may not really be knowing what you are buying nor will you know what the quality will be like. Make sure to do plenty of initial research on any product you intend to purchase. Always check for product reviews to see if it has helped other people. Also search on all the ingredients and check if they are all safe to use in the doses you intend to take.

A lot of weight lost in the first few days on intense diets is actually just water. This can leave your body dehydrated which can cause many different health issues. If you plan to lose fat fast, remember to re-hydrate your body much more than usual.

These are just a few of the problems that can arise from any rapid weight loss decision you make. If you intend to lose weight for a special occasion or event, start your program as soon as you know about it and don't leave it for the last couple of weeks.
