Reduce Weight by Cutting Down Body Fat and not Muscle

Many people use the term "weight loss" while other people name them "fat loss", some also use the term weight loss and fat loss together. Do they signify the equal matter? To most people, they do mean the equal thing. But the terms could be totally a different in meaning. You must understand the difference if you genuinely need to lose weight or lose fat effective and safely.

When you get on your weighing scale every dawn, what you'll be interpreting from the scale is weight loss and not fat loss. Weighing scales are never right in finding out fat loss.

Why is that? Because it measures total weight and not body fat per se. If you weigh yourself before breakfast in the morning and after you empty your bowel, you would likely arrive to your lowest reading as your body is dehydrated after hours of non liquid replenishment when you were slumbering and after clearing your bowels, a lot of water and waste materials are purged out and so it makes you become lighter. After a night of rest and not eating up anything, your carbohydrate storage is going low and hence you are even lighter without the stored carbohydrate or glycogen. What happens next? You barely loss some weight and not fat! Your body fat is nevertheless there while the weight of other contents such as glycogen, wastes, water etc are wiped out.

Immediately go weigh yourself once more after your dinner when you are completely replenished by meals and ingestion of water and you may be astonished that you likely weigh 4 pounds or a lot more heavy! You have just gained weight and might even gain fat. Now you would have realise that it is a mistake when people say weight loss and fat loss are the equivalent thing.

How come you must recognise the difference? Because nearly all of us, particularly those who are currently on the fat side would like to reduce fat and not reduce weight. Still with me?

The fewer calories your body burn, the more calories landed up become body fat! Hence it is critical to reduce fat and not just reduce weight which may also include the loss of muscle tissues.

Why is it that someone may be losing muscle on a reduce weight program? Well, we usually heard about people going on this reduce weight diet or that reduce weight diet. Most reduce weight diets require a level of constraint to the intake of food or calorie. Your body will then sends a signal to your brain that you are in a starvation mode and the body is calibrated to store more fat for the coming famine and will resort to use up your muscle for energy in the daily activities.

Some diets recommend a dangerous cut in carbohydrate intake. Carbohydrate is your body's main root of energy. When your body is exhausted of carbohydrate, it moves around to your protein which is your muscles and body fat randomly for energy. To make worsen matters, because of the restrained carbohydrate ingested, there would be less carbohydrate calories to for the use of energy calories and that once again will tell the brain the to start starvation mode again. This wicked cycle of your body cannibalising it's own muscle is launch again. The equivalent applies to people on slimming pills or salon fat loss programs.

Some would say ok, I get your point, in that's the case then I will just do heap of cardio exercises to lose weight. Yet it's another severe error. Have you ever questioned why long-distance runner, those who runs numerous kilometers frequently and are making cardio exercises just about everyday are so thin without any muscular tonus? Because your body is a marvelous system. It is configured to adjust and adapt itself. When you run or jog or swim long enough, it will tell the body to better reduce weight so that I will be able to handle the strain better and improve the endurance. Your muscles are heavier than fats and what would your body cast off more when it needs to reduce weight? Muscle or fat? Your body will throw away both but more of muscles than fats.

In any case, why will you prefer to reduce weight just to get a smaller you on the same body build without any muscle tone? Why will you prefer to be on a reduce weight program that consumes your muscles and bring down your fat burning rate so that when you're inactive the program, the fats comes back stacking on once more?

Hence, while you're active on a reduce weight program, you need to be also on a muscle building program. That would mean a combination of right dietary habit, cardio exercises and weightlifting exercises to preserve muscle and have a fat loss outcome.
