There are so many weight loss programs out there in the market and you're probably asking this question - "Which weight loss program should I sign up for?"
This is the most common question that's often asked by people who are looking for suitable weight loss programs. In this article, I'm going to share with you some questions you might want to ask yourself before you sign up for any weight loss programs.
Question #01 - What's the emphasis of the whole weight loss program?
Flip open your newspapers and you'll find so many advertisements on weight loss programs. Look at these advertisements - if you find that the advertisement emphasizes on the "before" and "after" photos, with claims on how he/she loses weight with ease, then you'll have to be careful.
The average weight loss (in an extended program) should not exceed 2 pounds every week - this is about losing approximately 50 pounds in 6 months or 100 pounds in a year.
Thus, you have to find out the emphasis of the weight loss program - whether or not the aim is to help someone achieve a normal body weight through a balanced lifestyle that promotes health and fitness.
Question #02 - Is the recommended dietary plan palatable and nutritious and foods easily available from grocery shops?
Make sure that the recommended dietary plan contains foods that supplies all nutrients that are required by our body for proper day-to-day functioning, and also that the foods can be easily purchased from a local grocery store.
Question #03 - What is the basis of the weight loss program
Any good weight loss program should be based on losing weight through changing of lifestyle behaviors - Only by changing your own lifestyle behavior will you be able to lose weight and be lean, fit and healthy permanently.
Question #04 - How to deal with sabotages?
Many a times, there will be situations or incidents that will sabotage your whole weight loss journey. When that happens, how are you going to deal with it? A good weight loss program should cover strategies
you can take to deal with these "sabotages".
Question #05 - Is exercising a part of the whole weight loss program?
Exercising is an indispensable part of the whole balanced fitness plan, because when you exercise, it will not only help you lose weight, but also help you relieve stress and elevating your mood.
By exercising regularly, it will also help prevent the loss of your body's lean muscle mass during periods of reduced caloric intake and this is also very crucial for long-term weight maintenance.
Question #06 - Are there any follow-up plans to help you keep a lean body forever?
Most weight loss programs, no matter how effective they are, are most often short term - once you stop following them, you'll start gaining weight and excess fats again. Make sure the weight loss program you choose have plans that emphasizes on permanent weight loss and has a system in place to help you support your efforts until you are comfortable doing it yourself.
Having answers to the 6 questions above will help you determine the exact weight loss program you need.
