It may be the case of a serious, chronic illness when a person goes through weight loss. It may be a symptom of acute or chronic illness if a person loses substantial amount of weight. Besides, it can be a case of diabetes mellitus if the weight loss is accompanies by insatiable thirst and hunger.

This disease is a chronic disease which is characterized by abnormal accumulation of carbohydrates in the bloodstream because of insufficient generation of insulin that is a hormone activated in the pancreas, and when secreted into the bloodstream, gives its way to cellular metabolism and utilization of glucose.

This kind of weight loss is known as unintentional weight loss where the loss can damage the health of a person vastly. Besides, deadly infections such as HIV may alter metabolism that can lead to weight loss. If one is facing hormonal disruptions, like overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), may also be on the factors that promote weight loss.

In individuals those who are overweight, therapeutic loss of weight can diminish the likelihood of developing diseases like diabetes. Greater risk of health conditions like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease, osteoarthritis and some types of cancer. One should consult a physician in the event of obesity so that a good weight loss plan may be charted out for you. Also, consulting the physician rather than experimenting with your own knowledge about medicines involves a greater risk. So, it is always safe to report to the physician. Also, while reporting to the physician, one should not lie or hide any sort of medical, stress or disease related fact from the doctor. Being open is the best way for the physician to properly understand and examine your case. Else, the medicine provided can have a great side effect on you which will lead to further damage.

The weight loss which is desired in order to get rid of the obesity is known as intentional weight loss. One should aim to lose fat at the time of conserving fluid and muscle. Some of the aerobic exercise such as jogging, walking, running and swimming which require oxygen can help a great deal in reducing body weight. Subsequently, anaerobic exercises which include exercises that involve muscle building exercises can also help in reducing the required unwanted weight.

On the flipside, if one is underweight, then he may be calling unwanted health risks. The problems that can surround you are osteoporosis, diminished muscle strength, trouble regulating body temperature and sometimes even amplified risk of death.
