6 Fat Loss Mistakes

When considering the fact that people work hard to get rid of that fat. They eat clean and train consistently. But they still cannot succeed and a lot give up during the way.

Although people care not of will power at first, it is a most important factor to make body transformation.

Impossible Goal Set

For a starter, it takes time for the body to adapt and gradually begins to shed the excess fat. During this period, motivation is extremely important. If your goal is unrealistic, it is not only discouraging but also distancing you away from it.

Keeping yourself motivated can come by many ways.

  1. Splitting goals – instead of aiming to lose 30 pounds with no time frame. Think of losing 1 or 2 pounds a week.
  2. Reward yourself – nurture your sense of accomplishment by giving yourself some small cheat meals. Don’t over do it.
  3. Slow but steady – Slowly skip out those junk foods one by one and gradually increase your physical activity.
  4. Don’t be too hard on yourself – It is not easy at first to stay healthy and eat clean but you will get used to it.

The main priority here is the progress. It can be slow but it has to be steady, as I mention. Then the long-term, no rebound fat loss is possible.

No Strict Plan

If you really want to lose fat or build muscle, it is of most necessary to outline your program. You need to know how much of what to eat and what can or can’t be eaten. Without plan, it can be confusing and boring to try to think of what to do next.

Another benefit of this is you will have a reviewable logbook. A logbook can show your progress vividly and even gives out a clear picture of how well you do and what to improvise. This means there will be less error each time you create your program.

Hidden Calorie

It is so true that eating vegetable is healthy. But not to salad, why? Most commercial salads are now enriched with fat and sugar to improve taste and texture. While home made salad provides you only 45 calories, you choose to eat 800 calorie Caesar Salad while thinking they are the same.

Low fat yogurt has higher calorie than normal one. It is due to higher content of sugar and thickener added to improve taste.

Tomato and many other seasoning sauces do give you calories.

Some back labels indicate one serving not the whole package. You need to look carefully.

Sweetener works great to stop craving for sweet. Physically, you do not consume extra calorie but your mind still tells you it needs sugar. Therefore, by gradually reduce your sugar intake works better for long term craving.

Understand your body

The body doesn’t think. So when we force the body to get thin by doing crash diet. It alerts the whole system to prepare for dangers. Body produces enzymes and hormones for this immediate attack. So now the system thinks you have no access to food source and therefore will try to keep everything that passes through your mouth and the most effective form of storing energy in our body is FAT!

I am one of those people who can store fat around abdominal areas very easy. Therefore, it is sensible for me at first to do just stomach exercise. But body will not reduce just one part and leave the others the same. You have to lose overall body weight and fat to achieve better body proportion and sexy abs.

No Strength Training

Muscle requires a lot of calories to keep it functional. At the same weight, muscle is only about approximately 1/4 size of fat.  Also even if you aim for weight loss, it is advised to gain muscle mass in the process to ensure long-term fat loss.

Additional yoga exercise is good. It can help core muscle strength and improve flexibility which leads to less injury.

Mentality

At first, all methods sound simple and easy enough but can starters practically do them? I once struggle at that point also. I want repeat this once again, “Don’t be too hard on yourself”. The progress is more important than your goal image. When just diet doesn’t work, add cardio exercise. When cardio is not enough, combine it with strength training. A few changes of this and that can do the difference. There are endless things to learn out there.

Only thing to remind you, and me, don’t give up!
